Constructed in 1839, Cockspur Island Lighthouse served as a daymarker to the South Channel of the Savannah River. Jetties surround the lighthouse making the shape of a ships bow in efforts to protect the structure from damaging waves. Kayak out to this historic lighthouse for some amazing views of Tybee and the surrounding area.

Guided trips for the Lighthouse will start in March and will be available every Friday through Sunday until October. The following tour times will fluctuate depending on tides:

Sunrise Tour - 7am to 10am

Mid Day Tour - 12pm to 3pm

Sunset Tour - 5pm to 8pm

Equipment Provided: Kayak, Paddle, Life Jacket, Skirt, and Leash

Please schedule in advance to ensure availability. Please call (912-421-0302) for additional details on the tour.

**The National Park Service has closed Cockspur Light for restoration in 2016 so travelers will not be allowed onto the island or inside the lighthouse. This trip will get you as close to the lighthouse as you're allowed.**
